How to borrow airtime from Airtel

You must have been there before: You needed to make some really important calls - but you were stuck!

No airtime!

You had the bucks - but there was no freaking place in sight to buy a new airtime and recharge your phone, plus the ridiculous message from your Telecommunication operator, telling you your airtime is exhausted and you need to recharge.

Now, don’t freak… You have a choice: Borrow airtime from Airtel and continue with your call.

How do you do that?

Firstly, Airtel allows you to borrow airtime based on what I call your customer loyalty score.

What I mean is that how much you will be able to borrow from Airtel depends on how much you often recharge and how frequently you recharge airtime.

So, if you rarely recharge your phone sim or you may not be eligible to borrow a new airtime from Airtel.

But that's not specific to Airtel alone. Other mobile telecom operators in Nigeria do the same.

Send the code:

If you are eligible, then dial on your phone *500# and press send.

Now, the next step is to select the amount of airtime you want to borrow and press send.

That's all!

If you are eligible, your Airtel account balance will be credited with 90% of the airtime you borrowed while Airtel keeps 10%.

Oh… yea, they call it service cost.

Now, to check your airtime balance on Airtel, dial *123# on your mobile phone.
